Rakesh Saraf was born in Srinagar, to Kashmiri parents. He did his schooling from an English-run boarding school in Orissa. At a very early age he developed a passion for reading and writing. After finishing his Senior Cambridge, he obtained his degree in Commerce from Shri Ram College of Commerce, New Delhi. Thereafter Rakesh moved to Rome where his father was posted under the IFS and joined his family. Life then took him to London, Halifax, Toronto, Delhi, Singapore, and finally Delhi again. Along the way he picked up CA and CPA qualifications, worked in KPMG and Ford Moto Co. After shedding his suit and tie, Rakesh became a serial entrepreneur, in businesses including consulting, marketing, apparel manufacturing, software and medical transcription. A passionate golfer, he spends his spare time reading (mainly non-fiction) and writing both fiction and poetry. He is passionate about his latest interest, learning Urdu, in which he is a reasonably fluent reader. At an age when most people think of retirement, Rakesh is starting new businesses, developing new interests and continuing to write.
